(This is referring to America btw)I noticed on a lot of message/imageboards politics come up at some point. I even notice that on some sites with comments allowed on recent news people express quite a bit of resentment for our current government. Sure, we discuss, we make plans to write to senators, protest, we dissect arguments, we talk of electing new politicians to office. But when it really comes down to it, most of them aren't listening and when things really start getting bad, what are most of you going to actually do? More meaningless protest? Or will you actually fight?

The key to successful non-violent revolution will be the states asserting themselves as sovereign and returning the federal government to a voluntary union of states.

If it's a violent revolution, the key will be swift and merciless violence. The american military would win any prolonged war.

I've been to a decent number of meetings, and I think the intentions are good, but I don't think it will result in any real change.

Should the internet be a "right"? http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/01/finland-the-first-country-in-the-world-to-make-broadband-access/#comments Otherwise other thoughts on how the US could improve their internet? (We are technically behind in internet technology compared to the rest)

I don't think so. I do, however, think that it should be completely unregulated.

July 1 2010, 14:05:01 #1872

I agree that less regulation should occur, also I don't consider it a right, because I think rights are not something you pay for. (the govt. would have to pay for it)

July 17 2010, 11:04:19 #1881

Is reading a book a right? How about having the ability to read at all? The U.S. won't improve it's Internet until Congress passes The Equalization of Opportunity Act.
