People are gonna have to start their own sites, like this one, without commercial interests in mind.
What exactly is it that you don't like about what Google is doing?

Google is indexing content. They're not even attempting to control it, minus email and Google Wave.

I don't think so they bought youtube and are now putting limits based on where you live (I can't even listen to eurythmics cuz I live in CA and its not available in my country) and adding commercials to the videos, which FORCES you to watch...
I think 644 is right though :/

Dude, be realistic. That would have happened to YouTube anyway. The limits are because of copyright law (behind Google/YT's power) and the advertisements are so that they don't, like, lose millions of dollars.

Google is essentially an advertising company. You have to understand that the free content you're getting isn't really free. You have to trust them as much as you would trust any other company.

I'm all for free services and free content, but people have to realize that there can be some very real costs to that.
